Meet our Knight-Riders - Kristy "Legin' it" Leggat News Meet Kristy "Leggin' it" Leggat , one of our awesome Knight-Riders who will be taking on the Ride to Conquer Cancer this October; Why do you want to be a part of the Ride to Conquer Cancer? Cancer has recently affected my immediate family with my grandad passing away early this year. Most people you speak to these days knows of someone who has/is suffering from Cancer so it something we should all try hard to conquer. It is also a good opportunity to help fundraise and participate in a challenge. How often do you ride? I don’t ride normally ride….. I have only just bought a road bike. What are you most worried about doing this 200km ride? The thing I’m most worried about is falling off my bike again breaking my elbow completely or falling on the other side. Fingers crossed I stay on the bike and if I do end up falling off I am close to a support vehicle. How are you training / preparing for this ride? I currently haven’t started training due to falling off my bike whilst learning how to ride it. I plan on doing long rides over the weekends, when I learn how to ride and I am confident on the road I will start riding to work. I will also be doing a couple of spin classes and keeping up my general fitness at the gym (combo of cardio and light weights). I’m also mentally preparing myself for this ride by staying positive, always encouraging myself and others to push through the pain or any other mental/ physical barriers we may have. A great test was on the past weekend when I bought a bike and was learning how to ride and I fell off landing my elbow. I have small hair line fracture from the fall but that will not stop me from participating. As for my diet I will try including more fruit and vegetables and up my protein intake. Hopefully with a good healthy balance I will be fit enough to complete the ride. How do you think the Knight-Riders will go as a group? I think the Knight-Riders will really surprise the other groups as we are all very determined to complete the 200kms. If we can all complete the 200km with no more injuries just tired legs it will be a challenge we can all be extremely proud of. Good Luck Kristy, and we hope that elbow is better soon! The DeepSeek Shockwave - Australian Insurance Perspective Thursday, 30 January 2025 Earlier this week, Nvidia's shares plummeted by 17%, wiping out nearly $600 billion from its market capitalisation.
